Istanbul will be hosting 4th World Rowing Coastal Championships from 22nd to 24th October, 2010. FISA’s president Mr. Denis OSWALD attended to the first press conference held in the National Olympic Committee of Turkey. Choosing Istanbul was a strategic decision said Mr. Oswald. It will help to improve to develop rowing in Turkey and Istanbul is a great city which continents, religions and cultures meet. FISA is considering to include Coastal Rowing into Mediterranean Games.

In 2010 Istanbul is European Capital of Culture said Ilhami ISSEVEN, the president of Turkish Rowing Federation. Istanbul maintains a distinguished position among the metropolis of the world with its unique geographical location and a cultural heritage of thousands of years. As one of the most energetic cities in the world Istanbul continually gets to be an attraction center. Mr. ISSEVEN stated that they would be happy to host all the participants and would do their utmost for an excellent organization which would leave unforgettable memories behind.
